Saturday was the midpoint of an intensive weekend writing workshop. After 9 hours of collaborating with fellow attendees on our stories, I drove straight to the beach. Without a camera, and no intention to do anything but walk on the sand barefoot while my imagination percolated into consciousness, I grabbed my bag anyway. There was no way I would be able to walk by trash and not do what I do. My intention was still to work on my story, especially without a camera.
I picked up the same-old-same-old items. An idea hit. Why not pull from my photos that I've already taken of this familiar detritus and create a post from that? So here's the re-purposed post. All photos are of objects (mostly plastic) that I found Sat. night, but are from other collections. Get the point?
I found two of these brand name ketchup packets on Day 275...and now one on Day 276.
We have the technology to leash-the-lid. My friend Kit asked me why we don't? Good question. Just like aluminum tabs used to be ripped off, but now remain attached to their can after opening, so too do we have the design to unscrew a plastic lid and leave it hanging.
